“Willa Lawenda” was built at the end of the 19th Century. This fact is proved by an inscription dated from 1898 made by a carpenter on a piece of wood that was found duringits restoration. From the very beginning the building served as a hotel. Before World War II it carried the name of „Willa Erika”.
In 1949 the building, like many others, was taken over by a state organisation FWP (Fundusz Wczasów Pracowniczych) and gained a new name “Kryniczanka I”. Kryniczanka became a main canteen for several guest-houses owned by FWP. The cellar was a food-store and the whole ground floor served as a canteen with a kitchen. The rooms were on higher floors.
In 1996 after years of running, the house was closed. From that time it underwent slow devastation and eventually fell into ruins.
At the end of 2004 the building was sold to a new owner and since that moment it undergoes arduous and utter renovation, exposing its former charm and monumental details of its decoration.
The works are partially financed from the European Union Program. In January 2008 the guest-house opens the door wide for the quests.
